Founded in 1908 the name "Waegwoltic" was adopted in 1910 from a Mi' kmaw word meaning "end of the water" - the same name the Mi' kmaw gave to the Northwest Arm.

With four swimming pools, twelve tennis courts, recreational facilities, 42 boat sailing program, a full range of lessons, social activities, lifestyle programs, day camps and a full service dining room, the Waeg has delighted singles, couples and families for decades.
